CONSIDER THE FRUIT
Saint Catherine of Siena,
The 14th Century
Once our sweet Savior said to a very dear daughter of His, "Do you know how those people act who want to fulfill My will in consolation and in sweetness and delight? As they are deprived of these things, they wish to depart from My will, thinking to do well and not to offend; but false sensuality is hidden in them; and in order to flee pain, it falls into offense and it does not perceive it. But if the soul were wise and had the light of My will within, it would consider the fruit and not the sweetness.
Cor Jesu, virtutum omnium exemplar, miserere nobis.
