Evening Prayers
The end of the day is a good time for reflection. It is the time to consider things that occured, and to ask ourselves candidly - did we act today in a way that would have pleased our Lord? We should thank God for our blessings, and ask for forgiveness for any sins we may have committed, as well as the grace to avoid sinning in the future.
Night Prayer
Eternal Father, I desire to rest in Your Heart this night. I make the intention of
offering to You every beat of my heart, joining to them as many acts of love and
desire. I pray that even while I am asleep,
my prayer and sacrifices of love will bring back to You souls that
offend Thee. I ask forgiveness for the whole world, especially for those who
know You and yet sin. I offer to You my every breath and heartbeat as a prayer
of reparation. Amen!
Prayer at the End of the Day
Jesus Christ my God and Savior,
I adore You
and I thank You for all the graces
You have given me this day.
I offer You my sleep
and all the moments of this night,
and I implore You to keep me safe from sin.
To this end I place myself in Your sacred side
and under the mantle of our Lady, my Mother.
Let your holy angels surround me
and keep me in peace;
and let Your blessing be upon me.
Amen!
Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry
for having offended Thee,
and I detest all my sins, because I dread
the loss of Heaven
and the pains of hell;
but most of all because I have offended Thee, my God,
who are all good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy Grace,
to confess my sins,
to do penance
and to amend my life.
