Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:
June 8 A..D. 2010
Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
1 Kings 17:7-16
Psalm 121:1bc-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8
Matthew 5: 13-16
A reflection on today's Scripture:
Do you only rarely hear people lovingly speak the Name of the Lord or acknowledge in any way that God even exists?
If that is so, why not try and make an impact on the situation by speaking and acknowledging the genuine love of God that you've experienced? Authentic gratitude and loving dependence on God's goodness are like light that is not meant to be hidden in a bushel basket, but allowed to radiate and to scatter the darkness.
Don't hide, then, the light of Christ that illuminates you and gives you joy, but let it shine on others that God may be loved and be praised.
O Lord, you put gladness into my heart;
help me let it shine on others.
