Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:
May 10 A..D. 2010
Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
Psalm 149:1b-2, 3-4, 5-6a+9b
A reflection on today's Scripture:
It is always good to be among family and friends, but that doesn't prepare one to be alone. Depending on the situation, one can find oneself alone even in a crowd.
Those are the times for prayer, and the help that comes from it. When I pray, I get the strength, and words if necessary, to be a part of wherever I am. "The Spirit of the Lord Is Upon Me." This spirit is the Advocate that John speaks about in today's Gospel.
"The Spirit of truth will testify to me."
"All who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God."
Jesus wanted us to become as children in the eyes of God. If we are children, we are heirs as well, co-heirs with Jesus Christ. If we but suffer with Him, we can be glorified with Him.
With family like this, we are never truly alone.
