Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:
February 16 A..D. 2010
Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
Psalm 94:12-13a, 14-15, 18-19
A reflection on today's Scripture:
Blessed the man you instruct, O Lord. (Psalm 94:12)
Today's Responsorial Psalm tells us that those, whom the Lord instructs, are blessed. It requires however, that we are to be docile and willing to listen, to learn and to apply the lessons. Often, it means letting go of our own perspectives and agenda, trusting instead in the goodness of God and the worthiness of His perspectives and agenda. Like any form of useful instruction however, it requires receptivity on the part of the instructed and skillfulness on the part of the instructor.
Consider then the degree of your receptivity and moreover the absolute perfection of the Divine Teacher and decide if you will give Him your undivided attention. The consequence, after all, is not just a "grade," but a blessing!
"When I say, 'My foot is slipping,' your mercy, O Lord, sustains me. When cares abound within me, your comfort gladdens my soul."
[from today's Responsorial from Psalm 94:18-19]
