Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:
February 9 A..D. 2010
Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
1 Kings 8:22-23, 27-30
Psalm 84:3, 4, 5 and 10, 11
A reflection on today's Scripture:
Today's readings make me reconsider how lovely we are in the eyes of God.
Though often not lovely in our own eyes, and those of others, especially when we are marred by sin, God thinks otherwise, hating the sin, but loving the sinner.
Because we have been taught that we are the temples of the Lord, the place that His Holy Spirit has chosen to reside, let us, then, never be too sad or despondent, but remember we have access to heaven on earth. We are the dwelling place of God. Let us be what we are.
“How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord God Almighty.” (Psalm 84)
"May your eyes watch night and day over this temple,
the place where you have decreed you shall be honored;
may you heed the prayer which I, your servant, offer in this place." (1 Kings 8:29)
