Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:
July 6 A..D. 2009
Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
Psalm 91:1-2, 3-4, 14-15ab
A reflection on today's Scripture:
Come, lay your hand on her, and she will live. . . . (see Matthew 9:18)
His presence is healing. His love is there to heal us.
But it takes us to ask Him, us to believe that we can be healed. And the healing isn't something that is merely physical, merely of this world and temporary. Such healing is for a time only and then it fades away, passes away.
No, His healing is an eternal healing; it awakens the dead soul within us. It gives us the strength to keep seeking Him, to keep walking in His light. Because this life is passing. In a short span it will come to an end for each of us. But the life He has healed us into is everlasting. It will have no end. That is the healing; that is the life that is worth having.
