Every day, we need to go to our quiet place...

Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:

November 28, A.D. 2008

Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:

Revelation 20:1-4, 1121:2
Psalm 84:3, 4, 5-6a and 8a
Luke 21:29-33

A reflection on today's Scripture:

How many days do we attend Mass or reflect on the daily scripture reading and completely overlook the psalm that is included in each day's liturgy?

I would guess many of us don't give the psalm verses much thought as they have just turned into another part of the Mass that we hear without thinking much about it. However, I ask you to pause on this day and to reflect deeply on today's psalm.

The response to today's psalm is,
"Here God lives among his people." (Revelation 21:3b)

It's a simple sentence that says so much! No matter where we go, no matter where we are, at what time of day or in any circumstance, God lives among us. Do we truly realize what a wonderful gift this is? We are all so blessed to know that our God is with us always!

The psalmist tells us that our hearts should cry out to the living God, the God that is with us wherever we are. Let us rejoice this day knowing that the living God is with us always!
