Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:
April 5, A.D. 2008
Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
Psalm 33:1-2, 4-5, 18-19
A reflection on today's Scripture:
It is amazing, and a grace, that the words of Scripture have been passed on to us all these years later.
Most of us have experienced in some way, the wrath of a storm as described in the Gospel.
In the First Reading today, the disciples were rowing three or four miles, not an easy task, in the midst of a windstorm! Then Christ appeared to them, walking on the water, and told them "not to be afraid." (John 6:20)
We might think we are alone and ready to be overcome by the storms that will and do come into our lives, but Christ sees and knows all, and tells us to trust in Him and not be afraid. May we always try to remember His words of comfort.
