Every day, we need to go to our quiet place...

Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:

March 25, A.D. 2008

Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:

Acts 2:36-41
Psalm 33:4-5, 18-19, 20 and 22
John 20:11-18

A reflection on today's Scripture:

Woman, Why Are You Weeping?

Alleluia, the Lord is risen,
why do we cling to His tomb?
He has left it empty,
gone away, forsaken it,
and we search for the Life among the dead.

Christ is living, not dead,
He is Lord of the Living,
not of the dead. Though
He spent a moment in the tomb,
He returns now for each of us.
Alleluia, the Lord is Risen.

Woman, why are you weeping,
why are you mourning
why are you still here, where He no longer is?
You cling to the past, to what has already ended.
Now is the time to cling to Him
Alleluia, the Lord is Risen.

Too often we wallow in what has past. We cling to what no longer is. Christ is Lord of Eternity. Not the present, not the past, not the future, but all of time and all that matters. Let us leave behind our old thoughts, our old selves, our old ideas, our old needs and instead turn to Him who makes all things new.

Alleluia, the Lord is Risen!
