Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:
August 27, A.D. 2007
Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
1 Thessalonians 1:1-5, 8b-10
Psalm 149:1b-2, 3-4, 5-6a and 9b
A reflection on today's Scripture:
Usually these reflections focus on the theme or themes from the First Reading, and/or the Gospel.
But today, let us conduct a little exercise instead—from Psalm 149, the psalm for today.
The refrain is "God takes delight in His people!"
What an awesome thought!
What if you spent the entire day thinking of this before you spoke with each person you encountered, that "God takes delight in this person!" Might it change our outlook on the world and the people we encounter?
And we need to recall that God takes delight in each and every one of us! We are His children and He has called us His friends! What more can we desire?
Have a Delightful day!
