Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:

Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
Tobit 1:3; 2:1a-8
A brief reflection on today's Scripture passages:
There is more than one theme in today's gospel parable.
One of those themes is called "responsible stewardship."
In the parable, owners sent various people to the tenants of a vineyard to obtain some of the produce from the vineyard. They were treated poorly, even killing the owner's son. We too, have been given many blessings, many opportunities and we will be held accountable one day for those gifts.
On a day to day basis, most of us find several opportunities to share those gifts. It might be just a smile or a kind word. At other times we might be asked for some tangible help or even the giving of one's time. These are really opportunities to thank God for the many favors we have received.
From time to time we need to recall that all we are and all we have, is really total gift!
