Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
Psalm 66:8-9, 16-17, 20
A brief reflection on today's Scripture passages:
The word of God is profound and complex.
Just as with an exquisite painting, the word of God is composed of many layers; the more you study it, the more you understand its depth and meaning.
As shown in an example from the Acts of the Apostles about the conversion of an Ethiopian via a direct teaching from Philip concerning the meaning of the scriptures, it is important to continuously study our faith. The Catholic Church contains within its "deposit of faith" those traditions and teachings that enable us to better understand the Holy Trinity and the redemptive acts of Jesus Christ.
Christ said, "Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him, comes to me. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me has eternal life."
(see John 6:45, 47)
