Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:
April 9, A.D. 2007
Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:
Acts 2:14, 22-33
Psalm 16:1-2a and 5, 7-8, 9-10, 11
A brief reflection on today's Scripture passages:
The Gospel brings us back to the empty tomb of Easter!
We see Mary Magdalene and the other Mary overjoyed. As they quickly move away to tell others they encounter Jesus. We read that they embraced the feet of Jesus. (Matthew 28:8-15)
Have you ever pondered what our reaction will be, should we have that blessing of seeing Christ in the flesh at some time? How will we react? How will He look on us? It is a good question to think about.
Christ gave two messages to the women which remain appropriate for each of us today. They are "Do not be afraid" and "Go tell the others." The work of Christ has been left for us to do. He is always with us, so we need not be afraid if we stay close by Him and let Him guide us. There are so many persons waiting to hear about the Good News of Easter!
