Every day, we need to go to our quiet place...

Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:

February 5, A.D. 2007

Scripture from today's Liturgy of the Word:

Genesis 1:1-19
Psalm 104:1-2a, 5-6, 10 and 12, 24 and 35c
Mark 6:53-56

A brief reflection on today's Scripture passages:

As the popular song states: "I Can Only Imagine" what the followers of Christ witnessed with their ability to see His many healings. The gospel of Mark today summarizes some of those occasions.

One could argue that the people of Christ's day were at an advantage in that they could literally see Christ. The reality is that those of us who have been redeemed and baptized have the advantage and Christ is expects us to continue those miracles!

Through our being open to the Holy Spirit and remaining close to Christ we can in fact be the ones to save a spiritual life, change a life or give someone their needed boost. The list is endless on what we can do through the grace of God. Christ trusts us to continue building the Kingdom of God. What an opportunity! What an honor!
