Every day, we need to go to our quiet place...

Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:

August 10, A.D. 2001

2 Corinthians 9:6-10
Psalm 112:1-2,5-9
John 12:24-26

A brief reflection on today's Scripture passages:

The readings today focus on GIFT. Throughout the three years of His ministry, Christ emphasized over and over again that our role is to give of ourselves. Now as we read of His triumphant entry into Jerusalem just before His death, Christ again reminds us to follow His example.

Key to understanding our need to give to others is the recognition that we are always totally dependent on God for everything. What we are and what we have, has been gift to us....especially our status as adopted sons and daughters. It is only in realizing that truth that we can become who we were meant to be. Then...Love can act through us.

Whenever we give of ourselves to another, it is ministering to Christ. It is not without reward, for Christ states "If any man minister to me, him will my Father honor". (John 12:26) This is indeed, awesome to consider!!!!!
