Every day, we need to go to our quiet place...

A Quiet Place

Today's Scriptural Meditation Readings:

June 16, A.D. 2001

2 Corinthians 5:14-21
Psalm 103:1-4,8-9,11-12
Matthew 5:33-37

A brief reflection on today's Scripture passages:

Say, 'Yes' when you mean 'Yes' and 'No' when you mean 'No.' Anything beyond that is from the evil one.

It is no big revelation that the evil one is very strong in our world right now. One only needs to look around to see the incredible evil and sin that surrounds us. But now is the time that we must be strong. Now is the time for us to wake from our spiritual sleep and actively seek God.

We can no longer be lukewarm or apathetic, but rather, we must burn with the light and love of Christ in our hearts. We should pray every day for the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us in every aspect of our lives. And strive to put God in the center and first place in our lives... The 'secret' to becoming more like Christ, and to grow each day in Holiness is found in the sacraments and in our saying 'Yes' to God in prayer. As our Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary, tells us: "Pray!, Pray! Pray!"
